The Clock Tower Sanctuary

At the Clock Tower Sanctuary we aim to provide a drop in service for homeless young 16 to 25 year olds so they can receive support and help and for somewhere to go that is off the streets.

Our day centre is the only one of its kind in the city and we’re open 6 days a week.

We provide a friendly, bright, centrally-located, safe space for young people to engage with their peers and other visiting agencies – without the worry of having to share a service with older homeless people who can be intimidating.

Outreach

We reach out to homeless young people and encourage them to visit the centre. We work in close partnership with a large range of other organisations, together providing a network of wrap-around support to our clients.

Crisis Support

We provide a range of facilities to help young people cope with the practical problems that arise from homelessness and ensure their basic needs are met. These include a fully stocked kitchen, shower and laundry facilities, computer and telephone usage, a postal address and drop-ins from specialist services. Above all, we offer a big smile and a friendly welcome to our warm, safe and inclusive centre.

Activities

We run a range of fun, informal and interactive activities throughout the week to help build up young people’s trust, confidence and self-belief. Activities include music workshops, table tennis, art and craft classes, cookery, yoga and days out.

Life Skills Classes

Often our clients have not had the opportunity to learn basic life skills that many people take for granted. We run a programme of bite-size, AQA accredited classes which have been developed by national charity Centre point. Our most popular modules include Living on a Budget and CV Writing.

One to One Support

Every young person has their own individual needs and challenges. By working closely with each client, we are able to identify the most appropriate path out of homelessness for them. One-to-one support is all about providing tailor-made help through mentoring, advocacy and case-working.
